Position Summary:

  • This is a part-time (full-time during summer) non-exempt position. This position is part of a team working on a variety of laboratory procedures involving microbiology and PCR following established methods and techniques under general guidance. This person works closely with Research Associates in the lab. Job responsibilities include performing general lab duties, conducting experiments with direction, collecting, analyzing data, and keeping an accurate record of all work done in accordance with the Quality System. Requires critical thinking and analytical skills. Full training is provided. Normally receives specific instructions on routine work. Reports to a senior Research Associate or Scientist.

 

Training and Education

  • Working toward a bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline or equivalent and demonstrate working knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Must demonstrate skill in basic laboratory technician practices (pipetting, materials handling, contamination control).
